Excalibur Product Design, LLC was incorporated in July of 1999. Prior to this date the company name was Excalibur Engineering. E.P.D. is an outstanding member of various recognized business associations. John Patterson, President and owner of the company, has been a Product Designer for over 35 years. During this period he has designed numerous high and low technology products for more than 25 different companies. As well as researching and developing products, Excalibur also offers client companies various product development services. These include: patent/trademark search and application, prototyping, display design, as well as manufacturing and marketing liaison. John Patterson is a member of "Who's Who in American Inventors" and has applied for and been granted numerous personal patents.

A year of research and development preceded the manufacturing of the revolutionary tool, Gutter Tongs(R). During this period, Excalibur E.P.D. critically evaluated all commercially available products, extensively researching prior art (patented tools) and prototyped numerous product ideas. In fact, Gutter Tongs(R) represents the only product designed by Mr. Patterson solely out of his own needs.

We don't claim that Gutter Tongs(R) is the "ultimate mousetrap." If such a product were conceivable, it would have been invented long ago. We do believe, however, that Gutter Tongs(R) represents the most advantageous tool presently available. We also believe that "do-it-yourselvers" will be quite satisfied with its performance.

In the process of improving our tool we have made numerous "upgrades". Our handles were originally made out of raw aluminum. Now we coat the handles with clear anodize, which prevents corrosion and wear and makes them insulated from any electrical contact. Our heads were first made out of ABS. To increase their strength and longevity we later added 20% fiberglass. Our newest heads are now manufactured from nylon with 30% fiberglass and are far more strong, yet still lightweight!
